A place to start

The Evanston Community Foundation has become “the place to start” for people and groups who want to assess challenges, find partners, and try solutions.

With a central core of information, resources, and expertise, we empower local program and service providers to fulfill their missions for the welfare of Evanston. The foundation convenes various segments of the community to discuss critical issues.

Since 1986, we have awarded more than $2.8 million in nearly 400 grants to more than 175 organizations, provided individual leadership development programs to more than 400 people, presented and sponsored workshops for non-profit organizations and family foundations, and organized an informal network of grantmaking partners.

An exciting new project, the Communityworks Initiative, pulls together the Foundation's roles as community convenor, grantmaker, and builder of community endowments.
